FUNDING
We offer the Universal and Extended Early Years Entitlement Funding at Sunflower Lodge and 2 year old funding. We offer all our funded hours completely flexibly, there are no restrictions to the days, times or number of hours your child can access in one day. This makes us quite unique as other settings don’t offer this flexibility that we believe so strongly in.
So, for example if your child came to nursery for 3 days a week 8am-6pm, this is 30 hours and all 30 hours would be offered as funded if your child was eligible for the extended funding and takes it term time only. The different types of funding available depending on the age of your child:

2 year old funding – Your child might be eligible for this if you receive certain benefits and earn under an income threshold, or where your child meets special educational needs criteria. For full details and to apply visit www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/eycc

3 & 4 year olds universal funding – This is for all children and starts the term after your child’s 3rd birthday.

3 & 4 year olds extended funding – Your child might be eligible for more funding on top of their universal funding if you are a working family (single parent family working or both parents working). For full details and to apply visit www.childcarechoices.gov.uk

We pride ourselves on offering all our funding in a way that means you and your child get the full benefit of it, this includes;
- Offering all our funded hours completely flexibly, there are no restrictions to the days, times or number of hours your child can access in one day.
- The funding can be combined with more hours if needed and you just pay for any extra hours you need at the applicable hourly rate.
- You can choose to take the funded hours term time only or all year round, whichever best suits your needs.
- If you are term time only you can book your child in during the school holidays when they don’t have any funding on an ad hoc basis just paying for what you need.
- For the 3 & 4 year old funding you can choose to pay a supplement so your child accesses many extra activities such as Forest School, Sunflower Splash water confidence and dance sessions! (More details on Our Preschool page).
If you are an existing sunflower family you’ll get a full funding pack from us a couple of months before your 3 year old funding starts. This explains in detail your different options so you can make a fully informed decision. If you are not already a Sunflower family it is rare that we have any preschool spaces become available as most of our babies tend to stay with us until they go to school. However if you’d like to come and have a look around or would like to be added to our waiting list then please get in touch and we’d happy to arrange this for you.
